Bob Farmer

You may recognize Bob from such bands as.... Fat Potato. Bob was planted and harvested in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Go Steelers!) and lived there until just a few years ago. In 2006, Bob and his Sweet Potato packed up and moved to Oregon. (Yep, a transplanted potato).

It was about a year or so after arriving here that Bob was fortunate enough to be invited to jam with the other Spuds that would eventually become Fat Potato.

Fat Potato is the first complex carbohydrate driven band that Bob has been part of and he is excited for the opportunity to prove to audiences that we are more than just starches. In fact, the carbohydrates in us Potatoes are the most common form of complex carbohydrates and as such are essential to a good musical diet.

Ian Croxall

Seeded in Britain, Ian's first instrument in school band was - yes you've guessed it - the tuba. Adolescence taught him that the bass guitar attracted sweet potatoes in a way that the bass tuba precisely doesn't, and Ian has been grooving on the low end ever since.

Exported to the US in 1989, Ian plowed the Oregon coast’s venues for 10 years in local bands before uprooting and heading into the valley with his Sweet Potato. Mashing it up with fellow potatoes guitarist Chris and drummer Dan for several years Ian has fun with Fat Potato’s high starch diet of classic Rock n Roll that he is eager to share with audiences.

Dan Gilberts

Dan is a native Oregonian Potato sprouting from Tillamook. He has been playing the drums since 1st grade where his first cymbal was a 10-gallon fish aquarium full of water and fish, which he broke with his drumstick - spilling the water and hapless fish onto the living room floor.

Dan has spent his life playing in jazz bands, concert bands, marching bands and rock bands since high school.

Chris Shearer

Chris is of a potato variety native to the Willamette Valley as he was grown and harvested here in Salem, Oregon. Playing various instruments from a young age, he picked up the guitar as an adolescent spud and his skills were diced and deep fried in bands such as Ed Zachary Band, The Horizontals, and Vinyl Trax before becoming a Fat Potato.

Chris enjoys spending time with his sweet potato and their tater tot when he's not busy laying down tasty guitar riffs.
